As part of a convening of farmers, we worked with our partner Collectives for Integrated Livelihoods Initiatives. We collected about 15 profiles of successful farmers and distilled from these, some of the principles that seemed to be at the core of being and promoting Lakhpati Kisan!
These were then shared as a gift to the farmers while they were acknowledged in the Gen Y farmer convening organized by CInI.
While these could not be translated into Oriya due to shortage of time, this experience showed that just collecting and sharing these stories widely creates a positive energy among other farmers, besides motivating those who get featured! When well done, it is an intervention by itself for those aiming to work with promoting self reliance and demand driven approaches!
