We were asked by Collectives for Integrated Livelihood Initiatives to develop a communication package that could help scale up the success of their program in Odisha. The program aims to bring regional prosperity in Harichandanpur, Kendujhar, Odisha- at scale and irreversibly. Precision farming has made this happen for smallholder farmers. Starting with 8 farmers in one village, this has expanded to over 100 farmers in 2017.
We made a film that captures the stories of enterprising farmers in their journey towards becoming Lakhpati farmers. Adopting new technology, taking lead and bringing transformation in their lives and their region, irreversibly.
This film was used in the Gen Y farmer event to use it as a strategy to increase demand for this new technology to expand the reach to 1,000 farmers. The film was made as part of a comprehensive communication suite including still photographs, awards and celebration and a market fair.
The film was screened also in villages to generate demand for drip irrigation. The film celebrates the enterprise and spirit of the community. If this is done, then the film works for the community and also other stakeholders.
